Meet Romford! The 5 year old Beagle sniffing out his forever home with a family can keep up with his constant on the go energy! Romford has come to us as a stray so we have no previous history for his early life but he is housetrained. He is a high energy working breed and so will need new owners that can manage his breed-typical behaviours and give him a job to do to always keep him entertained. Romford is looking for a family who would love to take him to scent detection classes or agility to keep his clever brain busy and/or enjoy hikes and outdoorsy adventures. He is a very lively energetic boy and would love to continue on building his skills and his basic training.

Could you be Romford's perfect match?

Romford has previously lived with young children and so could comfortably live with confident children of 5 years and above. He loves meeting everyone and doggy friends, he could potentially live with another dog with a similar playstyle subject to meetings here at the centre. Romford can struggle initally settling into a new environment so will need someone who is around all the time to begin with and will need help on how to spend time home alone which can be gradually built up once he's settled.

Beagle Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Beagle.

View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Beagle Owners website
Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images
