About This Dog for Adoption

Nicky's ideal home

One year old Beagle crossbreed Nicky is full of so much fun and energy and will make a great addition to a family. Despite only having 3 legs he still enjoys getting out and about for sniffy walks, he thrives on going for new adventures where there are lots of smells to explore, Nicky's foster carer has said that even when he is lying half asleep his nose is still twitching as he sniffs the air! When out walking he can be strong on the lead so his foster carer is teaching him how to walk more politely. In his new home it would be ideal for someone to be around initially until he settles into his new routine and surroundings but over time he can gradually be left alone for longer periods of time. Due to a recent hind leg amputation Nicky still needs some physical stimulation in the form of walks but due to being a busy breed and a young boy he thrives on any extra training and mental stimulation which really helps him to settle. He enjoys puzzle feeders and having a variety of chew toys to work at throughout the day. Nicky could live with children who understand that as much as he likes to run and play that he does need time to rest as he will get more tired due to only having 3 legs and that he can be strong at times. He can share his new home with other dogs pending successful meets at the centre.

Could you be Nicky's perfect match?

Nicky is looking for a home that can keep him busy with plenty of games and training, in particular those where he can use his nose and sniff. In the evenings he likes to lie on the sofa, get some neck scratches or sunbathe in the garden and catch those last few rays of sunshine. His foster carer has reported that Nicky is housetrained. If Nicky sounds like your perfect match, then please include him as a 'Favourite' dog when completing your application. Thank you!

Beagle Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Beagle.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Beagle Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
