Benson's ideal home
It’s Benson Beagle. He’s eight-years-old and he is looking for a loving home with adult adopters. He is looking to be the only dog in the home and a home without any cats. He has no history around small furries or livestock. Benson is housetrained and he is friendly with visitors to the home. He does well in a reasonably busy home environment as he adores the company. Time left alone may need building up gradually. Experience of the breed would be helpful.

Benson is a real sweetheart; he loves a snuggle on the sofa with his foster carers and likes to be close to them. He adores all the attention and being made a fuss of. When you’re in the garden together, he likes to chill and soak up some rays. He is relaxed in the home and has been crate trained where he chooses to go in as his ‘safe place’ and he sleeps well all through the night. He enjoys playing with toys, a game of fetch with you, and he likes his rubber tyre and rope toys. Benson’s quirk is that he tends to pick up novel items like his owner’s shoes for example and take them back to his ‘safe space’. He can successfully swap items for a treat if need be and we would always encourage to swap an item and never just take an item. Out and about, Benson likes an adventure, long walks and to go on a sniff’ari. He can be strong on his lead at times as he is excited to go and sniff everything! He adores meeting and greeting new people and their dogs. He is playful with other dogs and prefers small to medium dogs, he tends to be wary of larger dogs. He takes treats gently, his favourites are chicken and cheese, and he knows a sit and paw. His recall would benefit from much more practice before he can venture off his lead in unsecure areas. He enjoys going through fields, bushes, and anywhere he can sniff really!
