Joni is a gentle 10-year-2-month-old Beagle cross with the sweetest soul and a serious love for the simple joys in life: sniffy walks, tasty snacks, and lounging on the sofa close to her people. She’s a shy girl at first, but she’s very people-orientated: she wants to be near you, looks to you for reassurance, and once she feels safe she relaxes beautifully in the home. Joni isn’t fussed about toys, but affection is the way to her heart as a calm, companionable presence who’s happiest pottering about and then settling in for a cosy snooze.
Out and about, Joni’s friendly and interested in people, especially when she gets the chance to have a good sniff, and her favourite walks are anywhere with exciting scents.
At home, Joni settles well overnight and has made it clear she’s a sofa girl rather than a dog-bed kind of lady. She’s food motivated and takes treats very gently from the hand, which makes confidence-building and training really rewarding.
Joni can share her home with calm dogs and cats, and would suit adopters who love a slower pace and enjoy a dog whose idea of perfection is a long sniffy wander followed by a sofa nap. She will need gentle support to keep building her confidence.
