About This Dog for Adoption

Bernie's ideal home

Amazing lad Bernie is a 6 and a half year old who loves to explore the great outdoors and would love new adventure buddies. He adores long walks where he can put his nose to work following and sniffing out a good scent. He loves meeting new people and will gift his guests with his favourite toys to play with. After a long day of sniffing and exploring he will take a seat next to you for a fuss , he especially likes a neck scratch. This fun adventurer is on the hunt for his new home.

Could you be Bernie's perfect match?

Bernie is looking for a home with loving and active adopters who can take him on sniffy adventures and give him all of the love and care he deserves. He is a friendly bean who can live with primary school children who are confident with dogs, who can play with him nicely and will give him space to rest when he needs. Bernie could live with another dog that will engage in play, but will happily co-exist, this will be pending successful meetings at the centre, living with another dog is not a necessity, he would be happy with friendly and playful walking buddies. Bernie has some training under his belt, he knows his name and does a lovely “sit” and “stay”, he is a super smart boy and is happy to engage in training with the help of a tasty treat for encouragement. He would like a home with a private, secure garden for him to potter about and explore in, but this is not a necessity. Bernie settles nicely in the home, he could be left for up to 2-4 hours if kept busy with toys and enrichment, this would need to be built up slowly once he has had time to settle in. Bernie will need to meet his adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet him within 48hrs of being shortlisted.
