About This Dog for Adoption
Clover's ideal home
Full of energy and fun-loving character, meet Clover the one-year-old Beagle. She was originally found as a stray, so we have limited information on her background, but our training team have been working closely with her and figuring out what would make for her ideal home. Clover tends to find ‘alone time’ challenging, and as such, she is looking for a multi-person household, where her family could take turns keeping her company while she gradually works on her confidence being left. She is very fond of other dogs and her excitement can be too much for some, but finding her well-matched play friends or walking buddies will be very beneficial for Clover. There is a possibility she could live with the right dog, pending gradual introductions at our rehoming centre, as we are not yet sure how she feels about sharing her space with other pooches. Equally excitable when meeting new people, Clover loves being with her humans but may ‘mouth’ and jump up. She’d benefit from learning some basic manners when greeting people and would suit a calm, patient family, who could take time to introduce her slowly to new experiences and work with her on training. Clover can live with secondary-school aged children, who are confident around young and bouncy dogs and a garden of her own is essential, so that she can practice her toilet training.
Could you be Clover's perfect match?
Typical of her breed, Clover is a real foody! She loves her grub and would benefit from eating her meals in a quiet, undisturbed space, where she can enjoy her favourite thing in peace. Another ‘on-brand’ trait of Clover’s is her sheer enthusiasm when it comes to sniffing and is always looking for the next best scent to explore. However, her adopters should note that she can be strong and pull when she’s following her nose. She’s a playful pooch and will happily engage over a game of fetch or tug and providing her with a big toy box to choose from is bound to keep her tail wagging! She’ll also appreciate scent-games, enrichment puzzles, and tricks training, as she’s got a bright brain and she’s eager to use it!
