About This Dog for Adoption

Sawyer's ideal home

Sawyer is a gentle-hearted five-year-old Beagle looking for a calm, reassuring home where he can finally find the stability he’s been missing. Having come into our care as a stray, we don’t know much about his past or how he’ll adjust to a home environment, so he’ll need someone who can be present during the early stages to help him settle and gently build his confidence. A peaceful household with access to a secure garden would be ideal, giving him space to sniff, explore, and work on house training at his own pace. If car travel is likely to be part of his new life, a driveway or quiet area to practise will help him feel more at ease with the process. Sawyer can live with secondary-school aged children and needs to be the only pet.

Could you be Sawyer's perfect match?

Sweet-natured and affectionate, Sawyer has so much love to give. He finds real comfort in human companionship and loves to stay close, resting his head against you or soaking up gentle strokes as he begins to relax. Although kennel life has been stressful for him, leading to some repetitive grooming behaviours, his true personality begins to shine once he's out on a walk—nose to the ground, tail gently wagging, thoroughly absorbed in the world around him. Like most Beagles, he has a natural curiosity and thrives on enriching sniffing adventures, but it’s spending time with his humans that really makes him happiest. With patience, routine, and lots of love, Sawyer is sure to become a wonderful addition to the family!

Beagle Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Beagle.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Beagle Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
