About This Dog

Basil's ideal home

Basil is a curious, playful pup who is looking for a home to give him some guidance as he matures into an adult. He’s had a turbulent start to life and prefers a slow approach with handling but he is very friendly and a sweetheart once he feels safe. Any children in the home should be of around secondary school age and able to respect his boundaries, especially while he gets settled. Basil can share his home with another dog, pending a successful mix at the centre prior to going home together. He is a very playful boy so would suit a dog that will tolerate this.

Could you be Basil's perfect match?

Basil is a 10-month-old Beagle who was found as stray. Before coming to Evesham he was quite poorly and while he is fully recovered it’s not given him the best start in life so he’ll need a family that can show him lots of love and introduce him to home life. He shows positive associations with the car so trips out are a possibility, but time left alone and housetraining will both need some work. With his love of food and toys there are plenty of ways to reward him, which should ease the process! Basil is a wonderful little lad who loves running about and playing with other pooches. He’s going to an amazing addition to an active home, and any family who love their Hound and Beagle types are sure to fall in love.
