Maverick's ideal home

Maverick can live with teenagers and will need to be the only dog at home though he will walk with some. We have no history for him and cannot guarantee that he is house trained or used to spending time by himself.

Maverick's background is a mystery to us but we can see what a lovely boy he is straightaway. He's a little on the nervous side at first but soon warms up, although he will check in for a little reassurance now and then. Maverick has met lots of other dogs whilst he's been in our care and is happy to walk alongside them, but he shies away from any face to face contact and has snapped at one or two dogs. He lacks confidence and his adopters could help him by continuing to socialise him with appropriate friends. Mav enjoys playtime once he's settled in an environment and will happily throw his toys around. He eats very well and really seems to enjoy his food but we have observed him being uncomfortable if we're near him whilst he's eating, so he should be left alone to enjoy his meals in peace. He doesn't appear to know much so there'll be a little work there, putting in some nice reward based training with him.
