Frank
Frank's ideal home
Frank is looking for an active, adult only home with no visiting children under 16 years of age; ideally a single adult companion who can give him lots of attention, focus and go on lots of lovely walks together. Frank would prefer a quiet, rural location with lots of nice quiet walking routes so that he can enjoy his outside time peacefully sniffing away to his heart's content. Frank absolutely thrives when he has a predictable routine and clear guidance. He has spent a large part of his life in kennels, so adapting to home life may take a little time, so owners who will be patient, consistent, understanding and calm as he learns to live in his new home will be ideal. He will need access to his own enclosed, secure garden and be the only pet in the home. Frank will be able to spend a few hours on his own once he has settled. Frank needs an owner who is willing to work with our behaviour team to learn how to manage him around certain activities and situations. Frank's new owners will need to live within 45 minutes of the Canterbury Rehoming Centre to enable our team to do home visits to support his transition after adoption. If you rent your property, please have written permission from your landlord ready once you have submitted your application to avoid delays, as it will be required if you are shortlisted.
Could you be Frank's perfect match?
Frank is a lovely, active 8 year old Beagle with a keen sense of smell and a big passion for playing fetch. A happy chap, he loves getting out in the woods, putting his Beagle nose to work. He adores chasing and retrieving toys and will throw them to your feet for the next go! If it doesn't quite reach you, he picks it up and throws it closer! After a long walk or a good play session, he loves nothing more than stretching out on the sofa and having a long, well earned snooze! A really clever boy, he knows plenty of commands already and works really hard for treats, picking up new training really fast! He travels well in the car and was housetrained in his previous home. He is also muzzle trained which means he can enjoy his walks out and about feeling safe and secure. Frank socialises with other dogs at the centre and would benefit from walking buddies. Frank loves food a little too much and can become uncomfortable at the possibility of sharing so he would benefit from having access to a separate area during his feeding time. Although Frank will need some help to adjust to home life, he really does have all the potential to make a lovely, loyal companion.
